This page explains what personal data Nilerobot collects on nilerobot.com (including our careers pages) and on academy.nilerobot.com, why we use it, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. We collect only what we need, we don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

2. What we collect

When you visit our websites

When you use our contact form

Your name, email, what you're interested in and your message. We use them to reply to you and follow up on your request.

When you apply for a role on our careers pages

We use this to assess your application and, for shortlist roles, to contact you when a client project fits. If one does, we talk to you first, and we share your CV or profile with that client only with your agreement. If you make the shortlist, we email you a link to a 45-minute quiz; we keep your answers, your two written answers and your scores with your application. While the quiz runs it also records how many times you switched away from it and for how long, how many times you pasted into a written answer and how much, how often you opened it and how long it took; and we compare your written answers with other candidates' answers to the same questions, to spot copying. The quiz tells you this before you start. These are things we may ask you about in the interview; nothing is decided on them alone. There is no camera or screen recording.

When you apply to Nilerobot Academy

We use your national ID to make sure each person applies once per cohort. We use the rest to run admissions, teach the programme, take payments and issue certificates. We email you about your application through an email delivery service.

Protection against bots

Our careers and academy forms use Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, which looks at technical signals from your device and browser to tell people from automated programs. Google'sPrivacy Policy andTerms of Service apply to it.

3. Why we use it

4. Who processes it for us

Only people at Nilerobot who need it can see your data. We use these providers to run our sites, and each processes data only to provide its service to us:

We may also disclose data when the law requires it.

5. Where it is stored

Careers and academy applications, CVs and videos are stored in Google Cloud in the European Union (Belgium). Our providers may also process data in other countries, including the United States, for example for hosting, analytics and email. We use established providers that protect personal data under their own terms.

6. How long we keep it

7. Your rights

Under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) you can ask to know what personal data we hold about you and get a copy, correct it, have it deleted, withdraw your consent, and object to how we use it. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have similar rights under the GDPR.

Email hello@nilerobot.com (oracademy@nilerobot.com for the academy) from the address you used with us. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to Egypt's Personal Data Protection Centre.

8. Cookies and browser storage

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Our sites still work; analytics just won't count your visit.

9. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections. Only named Nilerobot staff can open applications, and only after signing in. Uploaded files are checked before we keep them. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you and the authorities if a breach affects you, as the law requires.

Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

When we change how we use personal data, we update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes that affect people who applied, we'll tell them by email.
