Business Development Representative
Open role · Part-time, remote in Egypt · B2B and B2C · 1–3 years
We're hiring a part-time Business Development Representative, working remotely from Egypt. You find companies that need a product built or engineers on their team, start the conversation and book the first call. You also help students and developers choose the right Nilerobot Academy track, with honest answers: the academy is a training programme, and it never comes with a promise of a job.
We're hiring for this role now. We keep your application for 12 months.
What you'll do
- Find companies that need a product built or engineers on their team, research them and start the conversation by email, LinkedIn and phone.
- Qualify each lead (the need, who decides, the budget and the timing), book the first call and hand it over with clear notes.
- Help students and developers choose the right Nilerobot Academy track, answer their questions honestly and follow up. It's training: never promise anyone a job.
- Keep the CRM up to date, track what works (replies, calls, sign-ups) and improve the messages every week.
What we look for
- 1 to 3 years in business development, inside sales or lead generation, ideally selling software or IT services.
- You've done outbound: you research an account, write a short message about them, not us, and follow up without pushing.
- You can explain product development and staff augmentation in plain words, and ask the questions that find a real need.
- Clear English, written and spoken, for companies abroad, and Arabic for students and developers in Egypt.
- Organised: every lead, call and next step is in the CRM, on time.
- Honest selling: you tell people when we're not the right fit, and never promise what we can't deliver.
- You work to weekly targets and own your numbers.
- You use AI tools for research and drafts, and check and rewrite what they produce.
Nice to have
- You've sold software outsourcing, staff augmentation or dedicated teams.
- HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator or Apollo.
- Experience selling to companies in Europe, the US or the Gulf.
- You know how software gets built: sprints, a first version, the roles in a team.
- You've advised students or run admissions for a course or training programme.
- A degree in business, marketing or a related field.
How it works
- Apply. About 10 minutes: your CV, a link to your work if you have one, and one short written answer.
- We review. We read every application. If you make the shortlist, we email you.
- A 45-minute quiz. We email you a link: questions about the work, about how you work with a team and with clients, and two short written answers.
- Interview. A call with our team where you walk us through your own work.
- Offer. If it's a match: an offer to join Nilerobot.
About Nilerobot
We're a software studio in Egypt. We build our own products and our clients' with the same team, and we work the way we write about: harness engineering, with tests and review on every change. What is harness engineering?
Our engineers also teach. Nilerobot Academy trains the next Product Engineers in the same workflow you would use here. About the academy The academy is a separate training programme; it isn't part of hiring.
Apply
- Your CV as a PDF or Word file, 5 MB or less.
- If you have them, your LinkedIn and a link to your work.
- About 10 minutes.
- If you like, a short video intro: unlisted YouTube, Loom or Google Drive. It is optional.
Write your answers yourself. We read for your own words, and the call shows us the person behind them.
