Product Engineer
Shortlist · Full-stack · 1–5 years · Client teams abroad
We're building a shortlist of Product Engineers for upcoming client projects. Apply once. When a project fits your skills, we invite you to talk, and if it's a match you join Nilerobot and work inside the client's team, managed and mentored by us.
A shortlist, not a single opening: we contact you when something fits, which can take a while. We keep your application for 12 months.
What you'll do
- Build product features end to end: frontend, backend, data and the deploy, from the ticket to production.
- Work inside a client's team abroad, in English, every day, with a Nilerobot lead behind you.
- Ship with AI coding tools, tests and code review on every change.
- Watch how people use what you built, measure it and improve it.
What we look for
- 1 to 5 years building production software as a full-stack engineer.
- TypeScript and React on the frontend; APIs in Node.js or Python on the backend; SQL databases such as PostgreSQL.
- You own features from the problem to production, and make the small decisions yourself.
- You build for users: you ship, measure and iterate.
- Quality is part of the job: tests, performance, security and monitoring.
- You use AI coding tools well, review what they write, and can explain every line you ship.
- Clear English, written and spoken, and at ease working remotely with a team abroad.
- Work you can show: a GitHub profile or something you built.
Nice to have
- Features built with LLMs or AI agents: prompts, tool calls, evaluations.
- Cloud and deployment: AWS or Google Cloud, Docker, CI/CD.
- Next.js, Go or React Native.
- System design: you can plan how a feature will scale before you build it.
- An eye for UI polish and user experience.
- A degree in computer science or a related field.
How it works
- Apply. About 10 minutes: your CV, a link to your work if you have one, and one short written answer.
- We review. We read every application. If you make the shortlist, we email you.
- A 45-minute quiz. We email you a link: questions about the work, about how you work with a team and with clients, and two short written answers.
- When something fits. A call where you walk us through your own work, live.
- Join Nilerobot. If it's a match: an offer to join Nilerobot as an employee.
About Nilerobot
We're a software studio in Egypt. We build our own products and our clients' with the same team, and we work the way we write about: harness engineering, with tests and review on every change. What is harness engineering?
Our engineers also teach. Nilerobot Academy trains the next Product Engineers in the same workflow you would use here. About the academy The academy is a separate training programme; it isn't part of hiring.
